VPNBreakdown is a free, reader-supported publication. When you click a link on our site and subscribe to a VPN, the provider may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra — and in many cases you get a larger discount than you would find on the provider's homepage.

We participate in affiliate programs with several major VPN providers, including NordVPN, Surfshark, ExpressVPN, Proton VPN, CyberGhost, IPVanish, Private Internet Access, and others we cover.

We also partner with independent affiliate networks. Where a link leads through a third-party network, that network sets its own tracking cookies (see our Cookie Policy).

Editorial and commercial decisions are kept separate. Our reviewers rank VPNs on the criteria explained in our rating methodology — speed, security, privacy, streaming, pricing, and ease of use — and they are not told which providers pay higher commissions.

A provider paying us more does not move it up the leaderboard, and providers we do not have a commercial relationship with are still reviewed and recommended when they deserve it. See our Editorial Policy for the guardrails that keep this true.

Any button labelled "Get Deal", "Visit Site", "Get [Provider]", or similar on our comparison and review pages is an affiliate link. You can hover over the link to preview the destination. If you would rather visit a provider without going through our link, type the provider's URL directly into your browser — you will still get a fair review from us either way.

This disclosure is provided in line with U.S. Federal Trade Commission guidance on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), the UK's CAP Code, and equivalent guidance in the EU. Where a page contains affiliate links, the same disclosure appears in our footer on every page of the site.
